Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Dear all,

- I am new here and really don't have the time to go through all the postings to find the solution to the problem.

- The star that I have some very serious problems and I really need URGENT help out there....

1) Initially one of the eyes not open, use Eyes cleaner is not working. What causes this ?

2) Once I see they got a flu, I know is really very bad :( What can I do about it ?? My previous ones also died from the same symptoms (RI). What causes the star to have a flu ? Is it because of the weather or because of the humidity ? Please anyone out there give me as much info as you all can....

Hi Dand,

I have taken to the Vet today and the Vet said that it got really a slim chance of survival. The vet gave it a Baytril jab today, and a syringe of Vitamins to be dropped into the tortoise mouth....and u can imagine how long I have to hold to oit before it opened the mouth !! I also went to bought the baby eating stuffs that is actually semi-liquid beans grinded and mixed with water to fit it in it's mouth when open.

It is bascially not eating, both eyes closed and with bloated neck....I can only look after it in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) conditions, prayed for the best and hope for the best.

Yes, I think I know what actually causes the RI problem already, I put it in the Balcony area, but it can be pretty cool at night, 25 degrees....and it caught the RI from there.....
 
Hope he pulls through. Respitory infections are only harder to treat the longer they are left unnoticed. Is your vet experienced in reptiles?
 
I hope hes alright. Be positive and I know it sounds impossible but try not to worry. Try feeding something high in vitamin A, that could help the eyes to open.
