    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm a soon-to-be-divorced mom of one, a 6 year old son who's in 1st grade at gifted school and the youngest in his class- he didn't turn 6 til the day after school started. I've lived in the midwest all my life, and after having moved several times because of my ex's job, I'm happy to say I'll hopefully be here in Rockford, IL, for a while. Close enough to family that I can drive home for the weekend, but close enough to Chicago that I can run up there for the reptile swap or a Blue Man show when ever I want. (Blue Man is my *other* obsession, along with reptiles.) I currently have 3 boas, an ammie, a pueblan milksnake, a JCP, and a green tree monitor, along with a dog, 4 cats, and 2 gerbils. I love sci-fi/fantasy books and movies, a good comedy, and the occasional horror movie. I also compete in Cowboy Action Shooting- basically dressing up in old west costumes and shooting at steel targets with a pair of revolvers, a lever action rifle, and a shotgun. I've been lurking here for a long time, and finally decided to join in the fun!

Glad to see you joining in Shannon! Good luck on your adjustment to being a single parent (been there, done that, don't envy you!) and getting settled in your new life! When will you be posting a picture?
 
Oh, ok, I guess I could post a pic or two. Here's a couple that illustrate my other hobbies. First, Blue Man Group-

And the other one is cowboy action shooting. Basically, get dressed up and shoot at steel targets with a pair of revolvers, a lever action rifle, and a shotgun. This is my new costume.
