hope you aren't considering housing them together (since your heading referred to a "companion") - regardless of how close or different they are in size. it wouldn't be pretty.

I have a 4 to 4.5 foot female I have been thinking for parting with. She was hand raised by my children.
She puts on a good show (acts big and mean, hissing and grunting) while she's in her cage. She handles "very well" once out of her cage.
I have never seem a gator this close to being what you could call tame.
