• Responding to email notices you receive.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey - I was just wondering if you could go through the posts and delete the old ones, because throughout the whole forum people are getting confused with "new" ads coming up that are actually old ads that people replied to. Maybe make the ads expire after 30 or 60 days? That would not only boost visits to your site (people would come back to post again!) but would also make sense for the sanity of some people.

Just a suggestion!

I Asked the Same Thing

a while ago and at that time I know cost of reprograming the site was an issue. Maybe now that some funds are coming in it isn't anymore. I know Webslave's trying to eliminate unnecessary forums and such to cut costs. It seems to me there is a lot of space taken up with obsolete ads. It would be beneficial to know ads are current and are not grossly obsolete material. I'd also like to see the "new classified" format as the only one so I don't have to jump around to see everything posted. I think this site is headed in a great direction. It has always progressed with the times but I'd like to see the classifieds revamped as mentioned above. Keep up the great work Webslave!

I believe WebSlave posted that he hopes to move to the new classifieds system on April 1. That will have a time limit on the ads and eliminate old ads.
Hang in there and be patient. I too have read too many old ads. See something great, look at the date and it's several months old. :unhappy: I have learned to be very careful reading the ads!

Yes, curlylocks is correct. WS said that in April we will go to the new ads (yea!!), he said at that time he will lock the old ads, so you can't post new ones, and then eventually completly shut it down. The new ads you have to pick a time limit from 3 days to 90 days. So ads will be up at most 90 days.

Re: Plea for MODERATOR!

Awesome guys - Thanks. I love the new classified system by the way - great job WebSlave!
