In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Dead Reptiles Dumped In Alley

Several people called 10TV Wednesday night complaining about a pile of dead reptiles dumped in their neighborhood.

They found dead snakes, alligators and turtles lying in an alley on the near west side.

By Thursday afternoon, the pile had been removed. But authorities were still trying to determine where the dead animals came from.

The Columbus Sanitation Department picked up the pile early Thursday morning. Sanitation workers say there were adult and baby alligators, boa constrictors at least 6 feet long, turtles, bags of fish and other discarded animals.

Neighbors say that a lot of things have been dumped in their alley before. But the man who made the bizarre discovery says he has no idea where the latest waste came from.

"There’s people who are known to dump off auto parts, dump off cars… stuff like that. You may see a dead cat or something like that there. But not 60 or 70 dead animals, and especially reptilian type," Henry Brake told 10TV.

Columbus sanitation district manager Bob Armstrong says the odor from the waste made it hard for the driver to even haul the garbage.

City officials made it clear that it is illegal to dump any dead animals. At the minimum, it's a third degree misdemeanor, punishable by a $500 fine and up to 60 days in jail.

The penalties with so-called "exotic" animals could be more severe. The Columbus Health Department was investigating, along with police.

Authorities said no area pet shops had any idea whether the reptiles originally came from their stores.

Here's the link. Hope it works.....

GRRRR people that do that should be shot and left in the alley too. Not to mention it happens in columbus on my side of town.

Trying to think of who it could have been. Whoever it was, was keeping baby and adult gators and large snakes. Kinda sounded like a breeder or seller...........

I've been wondering that too.
I have a hard time believing someone would just kill thier reptile collection like that, without even trying to find new homes for the animals or at least selling them.
Either way, it's horrible what was done. A person like that shouldn't be allowed to care or own any animals.

Testing should be mandiatory.

You have to take and pass a test to drive a car. I think you should have to take and pass a test to keep pets too.

The unfortunate thing is this idiot(s) dumping the dead herps could be an excuse to implement legislation, which we all know is not going to do the rest of any good.

Especially when they tried to point the finger at petstores to try to find out where they all came from.....

Are you kidding? You don't even have to take a test to raise children, let alone keep pets.

I doubt any pet store would just pitch their profits in an alley like that. Also what does it matter exactly where the person who killed all these animals got them? What matters is some idiot killed or allowed all these animals to die and that's animal abuse. There's no need to blame the person who sold him or her the animals.

Right karen. I am willing to bet this person gets caught. There are very few reptile shops in columbus that even deal in alligators, so i am assuming its probably somones private collection. Someone's bound to realize the massive thinning of someones collection and the pileup of dead animals are connected. It's sad to think that the animals ended up there instead of homes, where someone would have appreciated them....

Wonder if the cops have talked to timmy bowels or his pal bobby pruet?

Kind of makes you go HMMMMMMMMMMM don't it?

Here is a thought...kind of off base but here it is..maybe just maybe all the 'officials' in all the herp stings around this 4 state area dumped them cause thier refrigerators were getting full holding evidence...Yeah I know it is a long shot , but I find it hard to trust the 'officials' when they will sell something to you in the name of preservation of the species..

How about all those turtles from 'operation slither' in holding pens..?.. still alive ..I THINK NOT. :hot:
