In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

There are a handful of songs that, when I think of them, they will simply NOT go away for a LONG time.
Here are a few:

Hit the Road Jack by Ray Charles
Basketball Jones by Cheech and Chong
Almost anything on the Blues Brothers album

How about for you, do you have any songs that stay with you?

Aruba, Jamaica ooo I wanna take you to Bermuda, Bahamas come on pretty mama, Key Largo, Montego baby why don't we go down to Kokomo, that's where I want to go.

That's the only problem song I have. Now It's stuck again.

I would like to say that the song that sticks in my head is something I actually like, like "I wanna be sedated" or perhaps "Don't fear the reaper"...but what always pops into my skull during off moments is the verdamnt theme from The Love Boat...my parents watched that show every week in the 70's...burned into my memory.

the looooooovvvvve boooooaaaat...soon will be making another ruuuuunnnnn....the looooooovvvvee boooattt ....

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRHHHHHH !

No The Pina Colada Song is.................."If you like Pina Coladas.............."

Another song
The Cheers theme
"Sometimes you want to go, where everybody knows your name.............."

since you brought this up lots have been stuck in my head lol

Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you got til its gone, they paved paradise to put up a parking lot

Isn't anyone trying to find me, won't somebody come take me home, its a damn cold night trying to figure out this life, won't you take me by the hand, take me somewhere new, I don't know who you are but Im with you

Sometimes I get so weird I even freak myself out, I laugh myself to sleep its my lullaby, sometimes I drive so fast, just to feel the danger, I wanna scream it makes me feel alive, is it enough to love, is it enough to breathe, somebody rip my heart out and leave me here to bleed, is it enough to die, somebody save my life, Id rather be anything but ordinary please

whew a few others but Ill stop there

Head East: There's Never Been Any Reason

did you see any action, did you make any friends
would you like some affection, before I leave again
I been walking behind you, since you been able to see
there's never been any reason for you to think about me
did you have any bad dreams, did you break any glass
would you be my companion, is there even a chance
you been talking in circles, since I been able to cry
there's never been any reason for never telling me why
save my life I'm going down for the last time
woman with the sweet loving better than a white lie
bring a good feeling ain't happened such a long time
save my life I'm going down for the last time
have you every been lonley, do you have any fun
do you ever think of me, I'm just another one yea
you never give me no answers, you never tell me the truth
there's never been any reason for me to think about you
save my life I'm going down for the last time

This song has been stuck in my head for YEARS!

Today, for no reason: "I've Got You Under My Skin" by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons is playing in my mind...

Frankie has got an amazing voice for a guy.

Puff was awesome. What a happy song!
After doing the reading on the forums that I have today. I keep thinking about Danger Zone, the theme from Top Gun.

has figured out what song will get ANY song out of your head and will also NOT get stuck in your head. if you can believe it, its.....the theme song to "gilligan's island". try it....it actually works.

"I'm not the one who's so far away
when I feel the snake bite enter my veins
Never did I want to be hear again
and I don't remember why I came"
Vooooodooo Voooodoooo

I tried it but here we go again: "Aruba, Jamaica ooo I wanna take you to Bermuda, Bahamas come on pretty mama," I heard it on the radio this morning and here it is 07:30 and it's stuck and won't go away.

there are actually quite a few that work alot of the time...but for the really stubborn songs, you gotta bring out the big gun. desperate times call for desperate action, so when you really need it :
Come On, Eileen (dexy's midnite runners)
(for best results, use music and lyrics):

and to everybody that is now infected... for temporary relief, you can try to insert various other songs...but you might as well relax and try to wait it out - cuz this one is just gonna keep coming back

Oh Harald! You do know what works now don't you?
Come On, Eileen (dexy's midnite runners) is now stuck in my hed. That is a FUN song.

Another is Men Without Hats--Safety Dance

I love songs from that time period. They have a tendency to say a lot of nothing and do it with some great upbeat music.

Hmmm....The Vapors/Turning Japanese:

I got your picture of me and you
You wrote "I love you" I wrote "me too"
I sit here staring and there's nothing else to do
Oh it's in color
Your hair is brown
Your eyes are hazel
And soft as clouds
I have to kiss you when there's no one else around

I got your picture, I got your picture
I'd like a million of you over myself
I want a doctor to take a picture
So I can look at you from inside as well
You've got me turning up and turning down
and turning in and turning 'round

I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so.....

No sex, no drugs, no wine, no women
No fun, no sin, no you, no wonder it's dark
Everyone around me is a total stranger
Everyone avoids me like a Psyclone Ranger
Everyone

That's why I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so

(Confession: one of my male friends had to tell me what this song was about. He was nearly rolling on the floor cause I was walking around the grocery store singing it.)

She Blinded Me With Science

Thomas Dolby

It's poetry in motion

She turned her tender eyes to me

As deep as any ocean

As sweet as any harmony

Mmm - but she blinded me with science

"She blinded me with science!"

And failed me in biology

When I'm dancing close to her

"Blinding me with science - science!"

I can smell the chemicals

"Blinding me with science - science!"

"Science!"

"Science!"

Mmm - but it's poetry in motion

And when she turned her eyes to me

As deep as any ocean

As sweet as any harmony

Mmm - but she blinded me with science

And failed me in geometry

When she's dancing next to me

"Blinding me with science - science!"

"Science!"

I can hear machinery

"Blinding me with science - science!"

"Science!"

It's poetry in motion

And now she's making love to me

The spheres're in commotion

The elements in harmony

She blinded me with science

"She blinded me with science!"

And hit me with technology

"Good heavens Miss Sakamoto - you're beautiful!"

I - I don't believe it!

There she goes again!

She's tidied up, and I can't find anything!

All my tubes and wires

And careful notes

And antiquated notions

But! - it's poetry in motion

And when she turned her eyes to me

As deep as any ocean

As sweet as any harmony

Mmm - but she blinded me with science

"She blinded me with - with science!"

She blinded me with -
