In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi, I'm not here to pass judgement, so you guys make the call.  Back in June we sold a group of dragons to Trenton.  He wanted the group, but needed time to pay for them.  I had no problem with that, as I've been there, done that.  We started working a deal in the end of April 2002 and he made payments though June.  In the beginning of June, since he had almost the entire balance paid up, I went ahead and agreed to ship them with the agreement he would send final payment of $95.00.  Needless to say, he has not sent final payment as of yet.  Below is a copy of the last e-mail sent to him on 8/13/02....

Hi Trenten,
I hope all is well for you and the beardeds.  I wanted to ask one more time if you intend on paying the final amount for the dragons we sent you.  I think we were more than willing to work with you on the deal.  We held the dragons for a longer amount of time than we usually do for you to be able to afford them.  I figured when you were almost payed in full, I'd go against my better judgement and trust you to pay in full so I sent them to you.  I think I've been more than understanding, but must now ask for final payment in full.  Please don't make a fool out of me for putting trust in you.  I will give you this last chance to make this right, then if I haven't recieved paymant in full or a response, I will post our dealings on the BOI at Fuana.  That's not a threat by any means, but when a deal goes sour it's good to get the word out.
Hopefully this will all be resolved and we can move on.
 Thank You,
 Bob Fisher

Hopefully you will read this post Trenten and you will make good on your word and send final payment.  If and when I do recieve payment, I will come back to this post and ad it.  Untill then, you're a Dead-Beat in my book.

On the few times I have been inclined to trust someone on payment it has generally gone in my favor.  However, it only takes one transaction like you have described to sour you on extending any type of trust to a customer at all.  Hopefully the guy will decide to pony up now that he realizes his reputation is at risk with not only you, but the herp community at large

To John...
Thanks for your reply!  You know, what a world this has become!  Put a little trust in someone, and POW!, they stick it to ya!

Still have'nt heard a word from Trenten, and really don't expect to.  Trenten...  I know in the near future you'll surface, for one reason or another, and I'm sure to be there to remind you and any others of the way you are.  It's really not the $95.00, it's more the principle than anything else.  Thanks for the lesson, it definately won't be forgotten!

Sorry to hear of your "dead-beat" customer issue.  I have to agree with John on this one, I've had pretty good success on trusting people, but recently found out not everyone plays by the same rules <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>
Stay tuned as I may post my first "bad customer" thread !
All it takes is one these bad transactions to make you think twice about the "trust factor".
Hope he pays off his debt and clears his name with you guys..
Such a pity to see someone risk their reputation over such a small amount of cash..

I trusted Bob with hundreds of dollars worth of herps up front, and will again if givin the chance. I know the good end from him, and hate to see that anyone could burn such a nicer guy!

Bob, you are the last person in this business that needs to get left hanging by anyone. I hope this guy makes good on it Bob.

Come on its only $ 95.00

Hi Again Guys!
Thanks for your responses.  Stephen...  Hope things work out for you, maybe there won't be a need for your 'bad guy' post.
Rick...  Thanks man!  Right back at you!  Talk to you soon...

Yes, trust is a hard thing to come by now a days.  With alot of deals these last few years, we've been fortunate to only be had for a small amount money.  As I said before, the money's really not the point.  The two people that got me only got me for a little bit, hopefully with the help the BOI and word of mouth, they didn't/won't rip anybody else.  What a great place!

Just to refresh memories, the first time we were burned was from Steve Holbrook.  Here's a link to that one from 2/2002...

Let's use this BOI as we used the old one, spread the word!

Bob,
Do you have his e-mail and address?  So he wouldn't forget I would send him an itemized invoice every week with interest added, that way he is sure not to forget!

Good Luck! <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Torrie,
That's exactly what I was thinking about doing!  Thanks for the reassurance of my thinking!  I think I'll start sending invoices to both of them, just to bother them if nothing else.  As it was said before, such a shame to mud up ones name for such a small amount of money!  What a great place this site can be!!!
 Thanks All,
 Bob

You got It Bob...It is not about the dollar amount, it is how you can ruin you reputation over it (&#036<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>. That is what is good about this site, It shows the one's who could care less about there reputation over a couple of bucks! I would keep sending invoices also. That is a awesome Idea!

I Back you 100% Bob!!!

Bob Fisher (Hanover Herps) and to the whole herp community.  I admit that this whole thing was wrong and I have e-mailed Bob to let him know that I am going to make this bad deal turn good.  When I called Bob he didn't know me from a hole in the wall.  He helped me out and gave me soo much info.  that in no way would I intend to do him this way.  He held the beardies four weeks for me till I got them paid.  Me being pretty new in this hobby has not yet had anyone help me with as much info as Bob has.  The Claws n Paws was a buisness my father and I had opened.  It started to go down hill financilly and we closed the store and the internet connection got cut off.  I just connected this week and saw that I still owed the remainding $$. And other e-mails that bob sent me and on the last e-mail he mentioned listing it here on the BOI.  So I immediatly contacted him (today) and want to make this right with him.  I just want to give him and the rest of the herp community an apology for this.
Thanks
Trenten Hammond

alls well that ends well. we all get confused..overwhelmed
u name it..its not what goes wrong but that you do your best to make it right..
life is not predictable.

"Claws and Paws"....does anyone know the location?  I ask as I just moved into Corona, California and there is a shop called "Claws and Paws" on 6th street which does deal in reptiles among other things.

So I immediatly contacted him (today) and want to make this right with him.  I just want to give him and the rest of the herp community an apology for this.
Thanks

well what about my $800 bounced check---remember when i caught you guys at the expo and you gave me $100?--swore up and down that you were going to mail me payment within a week of returne if i did not call the police on you(they were in state--they could have been arrested on the spot--i got a soft spot i guess)-WELL GUESS WHAT--NO PAYMENT OR NO CALL OR ANYTHING--WE ARE TALKING ABOUT AN $800 BOUNCED CHECK!!---call me asap--i also heard you were telling people up there that you did pay me off--you did not---call us at 954-427-8222---right away--Ben Siegel

Ben Seigal.  I do not now why you are posting this on here to me.  What you have written has nothing to do with me.  You need to contact Jerry Hammond.  Not Trenten Hammond.  I was told who and what and how much to order and that was it.  I just worked there along with a couple more.  Trenten Hammond was not on the checks or on the buisness license.  I will be happy to send you his email address so that you can contact him about this.
Thanks
Trenten

it was you and your father or whatever---you place the orders--you and your father bounced the checks--i would make good on it if i were you---you talk like you were innocent in the whole thing---it was your business too.-

I was 17 at the time.  Legally how can a 17 year old have a permit to own a buisness.  They cannot!  I helped work there.  Like I said I was told what to order.  I didn't have a clue where that buisness stood financally.  I was just told what to do.  So yes I am innocent on this.

oh stop it!!!----you act like this was years ago--it was 6 or 7 month ago---you cant just change the name of your business and start doing the same thing over again--PAY YOUR DEBTS---YOU ORDERED THE ANIMALS--YOU SOLD THEM---YOU DID NOT PAY FOR THEM--AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT MAKE GOOD ON YOUR BOUNCED CHECK, I WILL BE RIGHT HERE WAITING TO TELL THE WORLD ABOUT YOU---I SUGGEST YOU MAKE GOOD---$800 IS NOTHING TO LAUGH OVER-

AND I QUOTE DIRECTLY FROM TRENTENS LITTLE FINGERS!

The Claws n Paws was a buisness my father and I had opened.  It started to go down hill financilly and we closed the store and the internet connection got cut off.

MY FATHER AND I---THAT I MEANS TRENTON
WE CLOSED THE STORE--THAT WE MEANS TRENTON

i was nice enough to give you guys the benefit of the doubt and let you walk away at daytona---but you are being downright spineless---that is humiliating and sad--"'oh i have nothing to do with that--i am completely innocent"-grow a backbone and pay your debts little man

Ben you are a well known and established in the herp community so I know that you are going to try to make me have a terrible reputation.  I DID make the order.  I DID NOT sign the check.  It WAS NOT my buisness.  You need to contact Jerry and leave my name out of this.  I am under Southern Sun Herp on my own.  So I am not starting over doing anything!  I am trying to start.  Till you come on and tell everyone that I Trenten Hammond own you a $800 dollar DEBT.  This is not my debt.  Were you ever responsible for your parents debts?

Trenten,

There is a saying that many people believe and most have found to be true:

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">
The acorn doesn't fall very far from the tree.
</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>

I hope you understand what that means.

And yes, your reputation is definitely in jeopardy over a business relationship you apparently had with your father.

You can either fix it or live with it.

IMHO.
