I'd like to preface this with; I'm not looking of anything here, except to give others the opportunity to make a more informed decision on who they want to deal with.

This is an account of my knowledge and experience, as I have had personal dealings with Jon Silverson (and his wife Kathy), and also what I know about his connection to Floyd Garison, as there are some who believe they are one and the same.
My first dealing with Jon Silverson came after knowing him on the BC forum for a month or so; he had offered me a Black and White Spitting “venomoid” Cobra about 6-8 months ago and I agreed. Now the only way I do business is via PayPal, it leaves a great electronic trail that you can be followed and thus provides some reasonable fraud protection; this is the method I used to pay him. The deal was –very- rocky, delay after delay, but finally it happened. So I chalked it up to Jon being disorganized and according to him he had no money available to ship until the PayPal had reached his bank account, although delays occurred after that as well.
Now a couple of months ago (as Jon was still around on the BC forum) I had an unruly male Retic that I was willing to adopt out, Jon was the one that responded and so I agreed to send it to him, just pay the shipping ($30). I had offered to send him one of my females as well for an additional $110 (again these was 1.1 5ft 66% possible het Retics); he agreed but asked if he could pay me that amount in 2 weeks, he seemed to be strapped for cash, so I felt sorry for him and agreed. Believe it or not there were still delays in getting the $30 shipping, again via PayPal.
I shipped the snakes 07-03-02 (60 days ago), and have never gotten the payment. What I have gotten are 15-20 emails that have promised different date of payment, and all of them have come and gone over and over again. I even chopped off $15 because the snakes didn’t arrive on time, so that’s a grand total of $95…
-Still won’t pay or make any kind of restitution.
You can read on the BC forum that he is –very- happy with the snakes and says so on several posts. So there is no issue here about what he bought, the only issue is that he doesn’t want to –pay- for what he got. I call that stealing and I call that theft, you can call it as you see it.

Now for the Floyd Garison-Jon Silverson connection:
-Both of these men have sold “venomoid” reptiles on Fauna, Jon had offered them for sale on the BC forum, and Floyd has had a website too.
-People that I know have received –word for word identical- emails, even though one was from Jon and one from Floyd.
--They sell the same reptiles at the same time
*When I noticed that Jon and Floyd had been posting the –exact- same snakes for sale on Fauna, it was brought up to Jon and this was the explanation (not verbatim): “We (Jon/Floyd) broker venomoids out for the same guy that does the surgery (must remain anonymous), those (in the ad) were mine to sell, I'm really mad at Floyd"
This seemed plausible at the time…

-Jon certainly admits to “knowing” Floyd
-Be aware that Jon uses a library computer to do his business

I’m not accusing Jon (or “Floyd”) of anything more than not paying me money owed to me ($95). But I think there may be a larger picture here, but you can decide that for yourself.
