    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Although I was born in Texas, I was raised in Manhattan, and I remember Sunday mornings with special fondness. We would have food from a delicatessen, read the New York Times, and occasionally my Dad would have one of his scientist friends over; and the morning was devoted to reading the Times and discussing science.
Sunday mornings are still special to me, although more likely I will cook a Texas country breakfast.
Do you have a particular day of the week where you have developed traditions for a special meal or get together?

What with my 6 day a week a.m. work schedule and the kids normally having school we have a "payday" tradition. It's one I carry over from my parents.

When I was a kid the folks took us out to dinner every payday. No one had to cook or clean and we all got whatever we wanted to eat. Usually we went to either Red Lobster or Long John Silvers, but fast food was also an option. This was back when there was an actual A&W Rootbeer Stand, and the rootbeer was fantastic! Big Boy and Ponderosa were also visited on occasion. Anyone remember Bonanza??? LOL Man the things that come back to you when you think real hard :)

Now the food choices are a bit different, but I do take my kids out for payday dinner or lunch. We go to Long John Silvers on occasion, but it's usually Subway, Wendys, Taco Bell, or Arbys depending on whose turn it is to choose. Arbys is MY favorite....lots of different choices.

Sunday is my only day off and is house cleaning day. The kids usually make other plans unless it's a special day like mothers day. My Glenn cooked me breakfast this year....pancakes and bacon. Glenn is 10, and I really appreciated his efforts. He's a pretty good cook!
