    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Great day herping!

Found my new favorite place :) Yellow Banks park just east of Des Moines. Found a small ditch littered with limestone and other flat rocks. Within 10 minutes I found a 12" ringneck snake (Beautiful snake with a slate body and bright yellow ring/belly) and a 30" fox snake. Well....he found me. Flipping rocks, he gave me the ol' "I'm a rattlesnake" act right if front of my face. Went back an hour later....heat came up about 10*....found another ringneck and two large garters. All in all a good day for and hour or so of work!

Hey, I feel cheated. I need to see pictures. :) Just joking with you. But I really would like to see pictures. You see last fall was my first time at field herping. The FIRST flat rock I turned over had a red milk snake under it. You can imagine what I was thinking: Man this is too easy. Yeah right. Three hours and a broken back later, nothing else. In fact, I've only seen one other snake that wasn't on the road. I had great beginner's luck.

ya.....just me the wife and the kids....no camera :( I went back later with a camera and found the garter's. Nothing I was willing to take too many pics of :p If it doesn't storm tomorrow, I'm going back and I'll get some good pics.
