In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

HOMESTEAD, Fla. -- A snake owner was treated with antivenin Wednesday after his poisonous green mamba bit his left hand, authorities said.

The man, whose name was not released, was treated at Homestead Hospital with an intravenous drip containing the antivenin, Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue Capt. Al Cruz said.

Cruz said the man would receive 15 to 30 vials of antivenin, and it would take time to determine whether he will make a full recovery.

"The hospital is considering this a serious situation," Cruz said.

Cruz said the man was bitten by his 5- to 6-foot snake at around 5 a.m. Wednesday and went to the hospital without calling 911.

The hospital contacted fire-rescue, which holds the serum for about 25 area medical facilities.

The bright-green snakes are native to Africa and are among the fastest and most poisonous snakes in the world, Cruz said. The poison attacks the central nervous system, and bite victims show symptoms such as difficulty swallowing, breathing and speaking.

Gee Wiz! I'm shocked that the hospital is considering a Green Mamba bite a serious situation! I would have thought the guy could just suck it up and walk it off!

Is this person Harold "Bud" Mierkey?

Couldn't be. A "man" like him would have a DNR on file with all the area hospitals, don't you think? I mean someone who is soooooooooooooo good (cough cough) as to volunteer his own body to the betterment of science and society at large, someone who is soooooooooo unselfpreposessing, someone who is soooooooooo concerned with the welfare of his fellow herpers that he would subject his own person to the rigors and trauma of SELF-inflicted venom injections, SURELY such a person would want to know the TOTAL and COMPLETE ramifications of ANY envenomation regardless of its occurence being accidental or intentional.

Oh wait, I had bud "the pud" murky confused with a man.

Sorry, my bad.
