    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

my redtail gave birth today and it was a disaster, only two out of 21 were full size and normal. the others all came out with very large yolk sacks still attached to them. this has never happened to me before. as i moved the slugs and mother i noticed that two of the babies are actually sharing one yolk sack. since i have never had a female give birth to such premature looking offspring, i have no way of knowing if this is normal. i will post a picture of the two, but as i poked around a little they indeed share the yolk sack. what is this? the babies have different patterns though.

i have to wait for my camera to charge, and i will post photos to show what i mean.

it is tough to tell, but there is only one yolk sack with two cords running from it, hopefully it isn't too terribly difficult to tell. i appreciate any info. thanks

Well this message my have found you late but I will give it a try anyway. It has obviously been a few hours since your babies were born and I would assume that any of the yolk absorption that has been done is done. At this point I would use thread to tie off each of the cords and cut the remaining yolk sac away. Place each animal into his or her shoe box enclosure and mist several times per day (while also keeping them warm). They will eat earlier then normal because they do not have their yolk reserves so try to feed them in a day or two. Do not let them try and soak up too much more yolk as it will start to collect bacteria and get infected.
I hope this helps, please let me know if you need any other info.
good luck
