In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Some people identify with political parties and agendas, and some do not. Some go along with some ideas and not others, and some choose to be completely independent. How about you?

In life I am at times:
I'm just a reasonable person, no group affiliations for me

And at others:
I'm an unreasonable person, no group will have me

As for true governmental politics I am registered as an Idependant, the issues and the person running are what I look for.

Um, for some reason at first I wanted to chose Flowers/Hippies/Free Love, but I always manage to kill flowers, don't smoke pot, and long hair would make me look like a tard. So I'm not really sure what that was all about. :shrug01:

Anyway, I don't like identifying with a certain political party, because I simply can't. I prefer to form my opinion on issues one at a time, and I guess it usually lands me under the democratic side... but not always.

Our two party system is annoying to say the least. I consider myself an independent, and vote on an individual basis.
I do like the reptile left people.. :dgrin:

You left out Revolutionist.

I am of the belief that our government is so corrupt and self serving that it is time to scrap the whole system and start over.

Let's just say there was a couple key issues that had me voting across party lines on the last election. It's funny how one little topic can swing a persons vote.

Mike, I think that's the best kind of voter there is. A friend of mine is so dead-set on his identity as a republican, that he ALWAYS takes the "right" viewpoint just for that reason. It seems that even if he agrees with the other side, he feels the need to vote for the Republican party out of loyalty or something. I've yet to meet a politician deserving of so much loyalty that someone should be willing to sacrifice their own opinions and views on an issue.

I agree with that sentiment. And I totally agree with Sammy's opinion that the system is hopelessly broken. Anyone who believes that we live in a democracy in the US has not read the constitution and has forgotten that Daddy's friends on the Supreme Court put Bush in office after the 2000 election. If that wasn't a stain on the Rehnquist court I don't know what is. Should Thomas and Scalia not have recused themselves after candidate "W" publicly praised them and their views during the campaign? Would that not have removed any hint of impropriety from that decision, arguable one of the most important facing the court at the time? Not that any of the other seven can be accused of casting their votes on anything but political grounds. Ironic that the states rightists like Scalia and Thomas voted to usurp the power of the state of Florida to conduct its recount. Not that I think the recount would have necessarily given a different result, but they should have been allowed to do so.

What it all boils down to in a "two party" state is it really is a one party state with two wings. And politicians from both are too entrenched to make any meaningful changes in the system that perpetuates their careers.

When I was younger I thought the Republicans had it right with the "lower taxes and less government" approach. But during this current administration we have seen an explosion of new regulations, the biggest expansion of government in our nation's history, a ballooning deficit, and a president who has pushed for expansion of entitlements. It seems that once they get into office they all are "big government".

Political parties exist to serve government, not the people. Government itself is self serving.

There are many interesting stories out there that outline the many purposes of political parties and governments and what they actually may accomplish. 1984, Brave New World, and Watership Down are a few obvious examples.

The whole existence of government suggests an inability for human beings to accept responsibility and make reasonable decisions. It makes me wonder how the human race managed way back when.....before people lived in such dense population.

Personally, I prefer Robert Heinleins views on government (a written in fiction) which is basically be good to each other and do what you have to do...just be honest and discreet.

Back to the subject, I like to make my own decisions based on reasearch and my own opinions.
