From what I was told this guy actually allowed the hognose to bite him as part of a study. I do not know the truth behind that, but allowing a rear fanged snake to chew on your finger from 3-5 minutes, is not something you just let continue to happen. I have a hognose myself, by I most certainly will not sit around and take pictures of it chewing on my finger.
Though there is a many lessons to learn from this, which ever lesson you decide to learn is up to the individual reader.

There appeared to be an anti-coagulant effect, the small incisions bled freely. There's something new we learned by him letting his hognose chew his finger for 3-5 minutes. NOT. Anyone who has been bitten by a nonvenomous snake will notice the anticoagulant effect. What is that guy trying to prove?
