In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What is the most you've spent for a snake?

I was looking around at ads for albino boas which are beautiful but pricey, and am curious as to exactly how expensive snakes can get.

I am sure thay some of the current morphs bring record breaking asking prices, but does anyone actually buy them at these prices? What is the most YOU'VE ever spent on a snake?

(All answers are confidential, we won't tell your spouse that they could've bought a big screen TV but you spent the bank account on a boa, lol) :hehe:

I think the most I have spent on ANY snake is $150.

If I could take all my $150 snakes and trade them in on a few $500 snakes it would be cool, but my snake room would be almost empty :unhappy:

The most I've ever spent on an individual snake is less than $200, and that would have been for adult corns that I bought in pairs.

The most I've ever spent on any reptile would be $400 each for two of my male albino African fat-tail geckos from Garrick DeMeyer. The next closest would be $315 for a bearded dragon from Vickie Dachiu.

I'd really like to get a pair of albino ball pythons, or maybe even a spider, but I want to work with the *cheap stuff* for a while and build my way up to that level. I know I'll break my record within the next month or so when I finally place my order with SerpenCo. I just can't figure out which morphs I want to focus on. :slamit: That, and I can't find a striped Anery B. cornsnake, or an amber motley...

expensive snakes

I've always had a champagne taste in animals it seems, although there are many beautiful lower priced snakes, I found myself taken by the green tree pythons and along with that came the possibilities of incredible "designer" types with incredible colors and all that.....

I've got a couple that were not offered publicly that I continue to make payments on that were VERY expensive, the next most expensive one was $7.5k, but the majority of my snakes came to me in the $750-2K price range.

All of these have been cbb gtps, some with pedigrees going back to the earliest breedings in the US!! I just LOVE waking up in the mornings and going to see all my little pretties!!!!

I know it's a bit crazy, but I'm 51 now, kids are grown and on their own, and this is MY passion... I don't spend money on fancy cars/clothes/jewelry... it's all for the animals!! There is not a single snake here I've had second thoughts or any regrets about :dancer01:

Well, I don't buy snakes, but I've bought a $500 gecko. Can I be in your costly herp club? LOL

$700 on a 0.1 axanthic white-sided brooks kingsnake and 1.0 het.

Okay, well we've taken care of breaking the record with the $400 Amber Motley I just picked up... and he's AWESOME!! :dancer01:

lol... I thought about that right after I posted, but I figured, "nah... nobody's gonna ask." :hehe:

Here he is!

Purdy nifty eh?

My most I spent for one snake is $700 for a 100% Het Caramel Ball from NERD.

$750 for a 1.0 DH Ghost Boa. It was purchased locally but had been produced by Dr. Owens so I blame him for the cost....:raspberry
