Driving the short bus....
I realize that there are probably other threads on here for Jim but felt that this one deserved it's own.
I have been looking for very specific albino's to add to my collection and when I come across one I do not hesitate to jump on it. Well, long story short, I ran across one that was exactly what I was looking for a few weeks back. I did a BOI search on this seller and found what little information was available leaned more towards the negative. Nothing major but enough to raise some red flags with me. However, I still wanted this animal but had to figure out a way of minimizing the risk involved.
In comes Jim. This seller happened to live about an hours drive from Jim. I emailed Jim to see if he would broker this deal for me and without hesitation he stated he would. I informed the seller that I was interested in the animal but only under my terms. The seller had no issue whatsoever in meeting my requirements which were quite simple:
1) He had to deliver the animal to Jim
2) Jim would have Money Orders in hand to pay him
3) Jim would have the final say so in whether the deal would proceed
4) Jim would determine whether he thought the animal was what I was looking for
5) Jim was the end all be all in this transaction
I overnighted the money to Jim so that he had cash in hand. The seller showed up and from what I can tell, stayed quite awhile showing Jim his animals and vice versa. Jim felt the animal was exactly what I was looking for so the deal was consummated.
Jim followed up with me via email and phone to let me know the status. Jim also arranged the shipping on the animal as well and paid for that out of his own pocket since we were not sure how much it was going to be in order for me to prefund him.
Tha boa arrived today and looks beautiful. She's a bit weary but is exactly what I was looking for. I cannot tell you how happy I am with this transaction and with being able to call Jim a friend. He went above and beyond the call of duty here and helped me. If anything, this deserves it's own thread. In this day in age of scamming, it's nice to find one of the nice guys.
