In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hiya all ... my "first" snake is on his way!!!

Who would have thought I'd end up where I am today???

I guess I'll have to start from the waaaaay beginning :dgrin:

I used to not give snakes the time of the day, not afraid, but also not faszinated by them. Then, I gave my son a reptile birthday party, where a couple of people brought over some cameleons, ball pythons etc. for the kids to touch and hold. I ended up with a couple of ball pythons tightly woven into my hair :eatsmiley That was the beginning ....

I never actually went out and bought a ball, but I played with the idea a lot, and then one day at my work, when I was taking a break in the parking lot, there was a co workers friend, who was giving away a ball python baby including cage, because his mom wouldn't let him keep it. The rest is history, but with a sad ending :unhappy:

I had my baby for 5 years, and when we moved last spring, he/she got out of her cage and under the house into the heating ducts .......

Well, finally about a week ago I decided to get a ball python again, but boy was I innocent!!! I NEVER realized there were so many different mutations out there and the $$$ these balls fetch!!!! Unbelievable!

So tomorrow, my first baby het piebald will be arriving! I fell in love with those morphs and I'm going to try and breed my own. Granted it will be a couple of years, and I still need to find a female het piebald, but I'm on my way!

Btw my name is Karin, I'm a stay at home mom of three :spinner03

Welcome!!

Hi Karin!!

Welcome to Fauna!! Watch out those Ball Pythons are addicting!! You wont find a better place to educate on these animals. This is a wonderful community of helpful people!! Once again, Welcome!! :wavey:

Thanks for the welcome! Of all the places I have come across so far, this seems to be a pretty active forum.

But I can't seem to find a forum to post 'wanted' ads (yeah, yeah, I'm already on the prowl for more snakes :) ) and also, help questions. Help questions regarding ball pythons, not the forum itself.

"wanted" ads would go in the appropriate classifieds section (they're broken down by type)
questions regarding ball pythons would be best placed in the ball python discussion forum
Welcome!!

Welcome Karin, :)
I have family up there in Oregon. They've been bugging me to come back home for quite a while. LOL Maybe in a few more years we'll end up neighbors.
Than I can check out your Pieds! I like those lil guys. But I like Boas more. :) That's what I work with.
Hope you enjoy it here at fauna.

Ciao,
Rick

Welcome to Fauna, Karin! There are a lot of wonderful folks here at Fauna, many of whom share in the Ball Python addiction...er, hobby....LOL.

Thanks guys for the nice welcome once again!

crotalusadamanteus .... if I'm lucky enough to own a piebald, when you move up, I'll even let you hold it

Sorry to be a pain about this, but to post a wanted ad, I would post it in the "ball python for sale" section? I mean the header says 'For Sale/Wanteds' , but the sub-forum only says for sale .....

I'm trying to find an adult ball python breeding pair! I'm itching to see, if I can manage to successfully hatch babies!!! I have always thought, even when I only owned my one ball, that it would be soooo cool to see baby snakes hatch! :)

yup - that's where it goes...just make sure you put WANTED in the header, or you will get people trying to buy them, lol

hi!

where are you in washington? i live in Northern CA, about an hour away from the oregon border. I am hoping to breed pieds in three or so years from now. nothing final yet, but i have a deposit on a pretty little '05 het pied female from Diego Cubas for my Petros het male. I would love to have friend nearby (ish) lol. anywyas, feel free to pm me if you are interested in keeping in touch. I'm not into the money aspect much, i'm a poor colleges student slowly working into it, but i'd love a fellow collaborator :D There don't eem to be too many breeders on this coast anywhere near me. i've found a person in Portland, some guy in SF who seems pretty cool, and i have heard of some seattle people. anyways, good luck! pieds are so beautiful!
