    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey guys,

My 95lb green female burm has something wrong with her. She ate about 2 weeks ago , She has been letting out a type of secretion , brownish in color , im pretty sure it is urine. The thing that scares me the most is she has a large lump and is very thick abot 8-10 inches from her vent , inwar and her "hepimene" i wanna say is somewhat exposed . I have never had this happen to a burm . If anyone can help , PLEASE let me know

Thanks

Derek Federico

Hi Derek!

Sounds to me like she is probably getting ready to defecate. Does she have a tub large enough to soak in? If so, I'd put in some fresh warm water and see what she does.

Just to cover all the bases, though, what did you feed her? Was it a different prey item or larger than previous ones? How has her behavior been otherwise?

my other question would be: have the temperatures changed? I don't mean how you have them set, but with the recent weather here in the NE actual/ambient temperatures are easily affected. Two examples: 1) I have a couple of banks of cages that are controlled by rheostat, and I have to stay aware of the impact that room temp has on my cage temps (when the room temp goes up or down I have to adjust the rheostat to maintain cage temps); and 2) The heater in my herp room is controlled by a thermostat. With the onset of cold weather, the heater is almost always on and the room temperature runs about 3-4 degrees cooler than set (just not quite getting there...gotta love this old house). If your cage temperatures have gone down, it could be impacting digestion

Hey , thanks for the responses. The last thing i fed her was and 8lb rabbit about a week and a half ago. Her overall temperment has been about the same. My opinion is that she is constipated , so i will try soaking her in water to see what happens.Or i might have to head to the vet. Ill let u know what happens though

Thanks again

Derek Federico
