In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

If you got a BURMESE python answer these questions for me Please

Ok i have a 8 1/2 foot boa and i think im ready for something big so im gonna buy one heres some questions.........

Are they mean?

How big do they get with in one year , two , 3 , and so on....?

How many times do they eat a month?

Lets say I do get bitten , do they bite and constrict or do they just bite ? my boa every one's in a while will bite me during feeding.
is this big enouth i made a cage its 8 feet lenth , 3 1/2 feet wide , 3 1/2 feet tall?

Im not shure if i want a normal burmese or a Albino , is there a differnce in size?

And yes i know they get BIG.

I do not have a Burmese any more, but I can answer your questions.

"Are they mean?" - Depends on the animal. They are generally pretty calm (after they hit 3 - 4'), but there are always exceptions.

"How big do they get with in one year , two , 3 , and so on....?" Depends on the animal , the sex, and how often you feed it. I had a female that was about 8' at 1 year. She was around 14' at 2 years and 15'+ (with a lot of added weight) at 3 years.

Those cage dimesions should be OK, but I consider less height (maybe just 30 - 36") and at least 4' wide.

There will not be any difference in the size of a normal and an albino (in all but extreme cases where there is severe inbreeding or selective breeding for smaller size).

If size is a big issue, you might start with a male. They typically only reach 14 - 15' and are considerably less "girthy".

Nick,

Yes, they are generally mean, if you never handle them. If you do, they usually become quite tame.

How big they get depends on how much you feed them, but it's gonna be big!

Sometimes, they constrict when biting humans, and have been know to kill full grown adults.

The cage you describe would be slightly small for a full grown, probably OK for a smaller to medium sized snake.

There is plenty of info. on Burmese care on the net. Do some research before buying.

The burmese that i bought was a female, and within two years was around eleven and a half feet long. She was a very calm snake. She would come to the door when I was getting ready to feed her, but only struck at me once and that was more my fault than hers. I housed her in a cage that was six feet long and four feet wide by three feet tall. As far as feeding goes, she would eat once a week, and i would feed her anything from quail, extra large rats to large rabbits. Some people I know have had picky eaters, but mine would eat any thing I fed her. Always fed f/t.
