Rudy Hilo. He'll take your money and run! Beware!!

I bought a three foot and five foot female red-tail boas from Rudy Hilo ([email protected], [email protected]) on kingsnake.com. on Friday November-4-2005. He was to ship the boas out Tuesday November-8-2005 for Wednesday delivery. Well the boas never arrived. I e-mailed him to find out where the boas were and this is what he said on Wednesday November-9-2005:

Hello, sorry I haven't gotten back to you, but I am away on business I won't return until saturday night. We have two options here, and again I apologize for this, there was no notice, but I could refund your money which is not a problem or I could ship out monday, it's your call, sorry again, just let me know what you would like to do. Then I told him that I would just rather him send the refund because I cannot have my payment tied up that long. Well he never sent the refund. I e-mailed him to ask why and I never recieved an answer. Until I e-mailed his second e-mail address Sunday november-13-2005 from how he said he was working until saturday the 12th. I said that I never recieved the refund and he needs to let me know what is going on or I would be forced to do a charge back through paypal. Well he finally e-mailed me back on Monday November-14-2005 and said:

Sorry man, I thought the refund was already sent, and yes I haven't beem getting any e-mails through on the other address, extremely sorry, I am sending the refund right just let me know that you get it.

Then again. I never recived the refund. I contacted kingsnake.com and they referred me to IFCC (internet fraud complaint center). I e-mailed rudy to let him know that I had contacted kingsnake.com and faunaclassifieds about this scam and that I have started a chargeback with paypal. I also told him that this was unacceptable and that I didnt know why he was giving me the rn around. Then he e-mailed on Tuesday November-15-2005 and said:

Yes i got the email from paypal, im not trying to give you the run around, I have tried to send the refund three times now. Im stilll away and have been using a company laptop, I will call my wife and have her do it from our home computer, again you have all the right in the world to do what you have to, I just got scammed for 1500 dollars and animals so I know whats going through your head, let me try to get this situated, again you are in the right to do what you need. Will try to resolve asap, sorry about the late responses I only get to check my e-mail once a day if any. rudy

Again I never received the refund or the boas and that is the last I have heard from him. Paypal ruled in my favor November-24-2005 but they said that Rudy did not have the funds in his account so I will have to wait until he put the funds into his account in order get get my payment back. Well needless to say he never put the finds into his account so I will probably never see the payment again. I e-mailed him to let him know that from how he wont put the funds into his account in order for me to be able to get the payment back from how I didn't receive the boas that I would have to file a complaint with the IFCC in order to get it back and that they said the case would be sent to the federal and state authorities. I have read his feedback on this site and it isn't bad but I just wanted to let everyone know what he is doing so that you don't get scammed either. No. His name on Kingsnake.com was Rudy Hilo. I do not know where he is located.

I had seen the threads about him before. They didnt seem to be that bad.

Stiil nothing from this scammer, I called him today to see what he had to say and heard nothing. We wanted to bring this post back up in case he was trying to scam anyone else.

That sucks. I hope you get some kind of justice. Looks like another SoCal scammer. Not that it makes a difference, but if you don't know what the guy looks like and would like to see the face of the guy who's scamming you, he has full body pic holding a monitor in KS's photo gallery.

Ralph, How do you find his pic on KS? What is his username there.

According to the thread Diamondback1 provided, his username is Nufanoo9. Just do a search with that name on the KS photo gallery and you will see what he looks like. Another poster in that thread said one of his emails was [email protected] too.

Looks like he has Rosys too, I am glad I never had the misfortune of making a deal with him.

I have delt with Rudy twice before, the 1st time he purchased my water monitor from us and the second time I purchased 5 boas from him just a few months ago. He is a really nice guy and I have no idea why he would do this to someone. I hope he comes through for you. Shanell.

Nice to see that you are getting a little bit more response now than before. I'm encouraged to see that he is still in business, and has not disappeared from the face of the earth. Two things. I may have missed it, but how much money does he owe you ? Its not real important, but it will help many readers here establish a perspective from which to further evaluate. Also, if he has pictures of himself elsewhere, you should lift one and put it here. I'm laughing a bit, as what is he going to do, complain? Claim common-law copyright infringement? It makes it a bit more personal, and you're looking for the right button, so push many. Any reader here would hope that he finally decides to work with you on finding a way to remedy this and move own. But you've made a claim of wrong-doing, so get the "mug-shot" here ! Hope it works out.

Well I went through 120 pages and all the ones there were not Rudy, does anyone have the pic from the gallery? Shanell.

He owes us $200 for the boas. When we originally posted this thread, we had a person email us a link to a news paper in California that he advertises in called the re-cycler. Sure enough he had the 2 female boas we bought for sale in there, with all his info. I called about 10 times and always got voice mail, left a nice message, but to the point, and heard nothing. We did the ifcc complaint against him and nothing. The email he used for us was " thegunsofnaverone". I will see what I can get on him. I an not really good with computers, so I doubt I will be able to post his pic on here.

I found his cell number from a email some one gave us back in november, I called it and vioce mail was full, but I put my cell # in to page him. Hopefully he will bite then I can get some up date from him, 6 months later he might be a little shocked at his scam comming back to bite him on the a**. We will see

That was me who sent you the info, ya thats the Rudy I know. It was just a couple weeks later after you had posted that that we went and purchased the snakes from him. He originally had 7. An adult pair and then the following:
1.1 anery
0.1 norm female 4'
0.1 het for albino female baby
0.1 norm female 3'

He had them for sale in our local paper for the whole group. He said he got them from a friend who went over seas and that the adult pair was in really bad condition really skinny. I was more interested in the pure anerys so we set a deal and we told him if he still had the others when we got there we would take a look. He called back and stated that the anerys were a bit thin and had mites and wanted to cancell our deal till he got them cleaned up. I said no that we already had an appointment and were still comming(the pics he sent of the anerys were outstanding, mites are easy to take care of and we still wanted them so we went). We got there and they were even better in person, honestly the best I have seen being offered on the market! Mites yes and alot of them, he had them in quaranteen away from the rest. My husband liked the other female( very thin- you could see her back bone) I had to argue with him that I did not want to take her home due to that I was the one who was going to be taking care of them and my time was already short with all that we had and then the anerys with the mites on top of that. Well I lost the argument and he bought all 5. He said that the older pair was already sold? I never saw those at all. All 5 of our snakes are doing well, the really skinny one is comming along just fine. We are bring her up very slowly but she is no longer skinny she has filled in very nice. The anerys still are glowing they are just outstanding, the larger female will breed this year and the het for albino still has a ways to go till she breeds just being a baby. We purchased all 5 for $300.00 so you should have had your refund shortly after because he had our money. I am sorry this happened to you, he has always been really upfront with us. If you have him email or number you should tell him about this thread, so he can try to save what little name he has. This has gone on for a LONG time and is ridiculous. Every email he sent us up until Nov. 29,2005 he said " Oh I am sending the refund now, I understand why you are upset about this deal, I will take care of it." Then nothing.
Rudy if you see this thread, give us the refund you deserve, and we will drop it. What is worth more to you, $200 or your name being out there as a scammer. Until you give a refund every one is going to see this , and realize that you are .
