    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Or so what we thought was a full guarantee. I had purchased 1.1 100% het for Anery baby boas from Steve from which he had received from Monster Cages. I received them with full paperwork which had a pic of each snake and each pic was labeled Male and Female and underneath was the listing guaranteeing the snakes genetics and signed by them as well. Well turns out they both happened to be males. I notified Steve and he politely asked me to call Monster Cages to see what they could work out for me being that I was now in position of the snakes and the paperwork. I said no problem and gave them a call. When I finally got a hold of them they stated they were only going to guarantee the genetics and not the sex of the snakes. They said that when they received them some were very shaky as to what sex they were and that it was very hard to determine the sex of a baby boa? I had then asked very politely why then did they go as far then to have labeled them as to what sex they were because to me that just guaranteed that snake to that sex they labeled it as. They said no and that I needed to go back to Steve. Steve tried to locate me a female het Anery but after much searching was unable to locate us one. So to make it up to us he offered us one of his HOLDBACK pure Anery females at a killer reduced price and to go ahead and keep the male het to sell and recoup for the extra cost of the mistake. Well needless to say we were not expecting him to have done that but it meant a lot to us that he did! The original transaction was flawless and so was this little problem that to us the other company should have stood behind and did not. Hats off to Steve for taking such great care of us with this transaction. I highly recommend him to anyone! Thanks again Steve! Shanell Sepulveda.

A label is an express warranty. It is not necessary to use the word 'warranty' to create one. If Monster Cages did indeed label the snakes as to kind and gender I can't imagine such a large company not standing behind that sort of warranty. I am not a snake vendor, but in the trade, if you identify an animal as sexed one way or the other, is that a 'maybe?' or is a sexed snake considered sexed?

Repeating a warranty when reselling creates its own express warranty. In general, one can say 'This company sold me these snakes as a pair but I have not sexed them and do not know what they are';
However if you were told they were a pair you could have insisted on being given a replacement or refund without having to deal with the remote seller, but it looks like Steve gave you a solution you are happy with.

This was the topic of a thread sometime ago in the General Business Discussions forum. For how long after the sale should a seller guarantee the sex of an animal? It was my opinion then and it still is now that when you are charged for a certain animal based on its gender the guarantee should not expire. It makes very little sense to guarantee the genetics for life but not to guarantee the sex unless of course you are selling them unsexed which is usually reflected in the price. Monster Cages should have taken responsibility for having sent the wrong sex. Some feel the sex guarantee has expiration date (similar to the health guarantee) and even have it stated in their TOS. It’s their prerogative and as long as the buyer feels comfortable with that clause there are no grounds for complaint later on if the buyer does not verify the sex within that time frame. In this case it’s really evident how ridiculous this sounds. They guarantee the genetics (supposedly for life) of a “pair” of snakes which both resulted to be males. It’s obvious that the only way to prove them out was going to be by buying additional snakes of the opposite sex and identical genetics. Very simply put Steve Beamer went beyond his responsibility which speaks very well about him and his business.

Exactly Dan, he sure did! I don't care how big a company is, if anyone was to label paperwork with the sex of an animal then to me it was just guaranteed that they have stated that that animal is what they are calling it. If Monster cages was so unsure of the sex on a few of those snakes then a "label of sex" should never have been placed on the paperwork.
Anyhow we are extremely pleased with the business that we received from Steve and if he ever has anything up for sale that we would be interested in in the future we would most defiantly make that purchase again from him hands down! Thanks for everyones replies! Shanell Sepulveda.

I agree 100% with Dan, if you sell someone a male or female, then it should be just that because we all know these things don't have a sex change. Just goes to show you that a guarantee is only as good as the person who wrote it. I'm happy to hear that Steve made things better than good for you. It makes me wonder how Monster Cages value Steve's business.
