    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi! I was wondering about what type of herps one can expect to find in the eastern TN area from say Knoxville - Bristol. Any tips on good places, or anyone willing to hunt with me when the weather accomdates. I'm interested in finding most any thing, inverts, amphibians and of course, reptiles :)

Thanks for the help

Well, there is at least one person in east TN that likes to go hunting reptiles :thumbsup:

I'm minutes from VA and NC as well, if you would want to go out and wander through the woods looking for creatures. Isn't there anyone else around here into walking and looking for things in the wilderness ???

:bolt01: With my tarantulas at home, I'm not at all scary :cool:

Peace

Hey, nice to meet you. I am from Gate City, though I live in GA now. The old high way that connects Gate City and Bristol, its called the Gate City Highway and also US 58 or 421 is a good road to run for rat snakes, timber rattlesnakes and copperheads. Go all the way to Gate City, then head north on 71 toward Nicklesville, VA. Turn left after you cross the first little bridge on 71, I think that road is 792, you will see a mill damn on your left in about ½ miles. At the bottom of that damn back about 400 yards is an excellent place for water snakes. I collected 4 sp from that area as a child. Probably dozens of each. There is also a good verity of turtles there. I rarely get up that way any more, but I would love to have a pair or rattlesnakes from my old hometime, if you find any timbers in Scoot County, VA drop me a line. Thanks –chuck
