    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Looking for consumers who have had good/bad experiences with this product. They make different beddings-we are curious about the little wood chips. Primarily want to hear from you if you have bad experience and would be interested in joining forces to have warning labels placed on packaging-our adult iguana died today from impaction complications-despite our surgical attempt last week.

PLEASE help me find others in this same, horrible situation!

Never, ever use any type of substraight with iguanas. They will get impacted every time. I use news paper. If you want it to look good you could use repti-carpet. But wood chips or reptile sand is a no, no. These companies want to sell their product, and will say anything to do just that. I have seen reptile bark with a iguana right on the package. Iguanas are well known for eating this stuff. I have something to ponder. How many baby Iggys are sold each year at your local pet shop? Now, how many adults do you see anywhere? That means the mortality rate is way, way up there. Iguanas are very cheap, and many people buy them because the are told that they are easy to care for. Well that is far from the truth. Iguanas do not fare well in captivity. As seen with the amount of adults, verses babies. Another false tale told is that they are great for a first time keeper, that is not true. I have seen people buy these things and feed them dog food, spinach, iceberg lettuce and many other things that are just terrible for iguanas. Well sorry for the rambling, but please do not use wood chips with iguanas. It will only wind up killing your pet.

Here is a picture of one I had for a long time.

I have used the exanding dirt bricks before and I did not have impaction problems with it. The problem I did have was the cleaning, dirt thrown on the floors, etc. I switched to newspaper after that and I could not be happier, so that is all she gets.

Sarah, sorry for your lose. If you need me to write any letters(I have lost a lizard before due to impaction) or something just PM me what you would like.
