In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm fascinated with these snakes.

For the past three days, i've just been online reading about pine, gopher, and bullsnakes. I'm hoping to purchase one in september when the next reptile show comes to town (CA). I can't decide between a normal bull, a patternless bull, a blizzard bull, or a black pine. Shit, i'll just buy them all! lol. My hognose snake is great, but i'd like to have something a little more impressive when it comes to size. I've never seen a pit up close. Is it true that they have raised rough scales?

Yup - raised rough scales is a fairly good description...and a piece of cartilege at the front of their glottis that amplifies their hiss into something to be proud of. I've got a trio of bulls - the male is much lighter colored (but I hesitate to call him a hypo without further research), and my one female is a hisser.
No reptile show til September?? I'd go nuts, lol.

Have you seen the hypo white-sided bulls? I am going to end up having 40+ snakes again if I keep on adding to my want list.

I have a pair of black pines myself and love them.

I'm not really familiar with alot of the Pit morphs.
I really like black pines, too. I was thinking last year (at a show), that I could remember when patternless southern pines were selling for about $1000/pair...and I wanted them, lol.
I have some colubrids, and every year (at least) I find myself contemplating selling them off to make room for my other projects. So much so, that I didn't even include them on my website, lol. I broke down about a month ago and added a colubrid page, but it is empty because they were all brumating so I didn't have pics. Coming out in 2 weeks...and I haven't got a clue where I am going to put them.

Pits are great. Years ago I had a small colony of Northern Pines that I regret selling. Currently I have 1.1 Southern pines (het snow), 1.0 hybino bull, 0.1 ghost bull, and 1.0 Cape Gopher. They are the most personable snakes I've ever had. I intend on getting a bunch more this year. Unfortunately they are very addicting. I guarantee that if you buy one this year, you get more soon after!
