    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

These little guys are the miniture version of those..lol :rofl: They jump out of the sand and try to bite your fingers...lol...Kenyan Sand Boas are really an interesting species, it just sucks that they spend most of thier time under the sand and out of sight...

Nice looking specimen. Do they just bite at you when they are in ambush/capture feeding mode, or will they bite even when handling them? I've never owned one, but like them, so was just wondering what kind of temperment they have.

Depends on the snake. I have owned a few and only one(Rough Scale) ever bit me. I put him in a brown bag to feed him and he literally jumped out of the bag and bit me, my finger must have looked like a pinkie to him. Other than that one time, I have never seen any tendency to bit or show aggression from them.

Cool. I'm gonna have to pick some of those up one of these days. I've always liked them, especially the rough scales, but for some reason have never picked any up.

I have

I have only kept Kenyans Sand Boas, But generally they are pretty good to work with...The one I currently am taking care of is a hatchling, and sometimes babies can be a little fiesty...its cute more than anything...this is the first one I have had that is fiesty...but its really cool to see them, all under the sand...with their little heads poking up out of the sand waiting to ambush their prey....pretty cool little species of boa...Tiny Giants..lol I recommend them...They don't get big..and they are fun to watch burrowing in the sand...

I just got bit from my KSB the other day for the first time. Scared me more than anything! The weird thing is, is that he was laying out completely on top of the substrate when I went to pick him up. He must of been asleep when I picked him up. His bite barely drew any blood. LOL Cool little snakes!!

When they poke their little heads out I am reminded of the game "Whack A Mole", touch them on their noses and they drop under the sand then poke out somewhere else.
