    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm going shopping! On my list is a digital scale for geckos and ball pythons. What does everyone reccommend? The other thing is housing for my two new balls I'm picking up. I'm used to keeping them in glass cages, but due to space confinement this is no longer an option. I plan on using a rubbermaid under the bed container, but what else do I need? (heat source wise). Thanks!

Jenna

Your best bet would be to go to one of the suppliers available in the sticky links, i prefer www.mgreptiles.com for my heating supplies. Matt is a good guy and provides a great product at great prices. He can also connect the flexwatt for you for a small fee so its ready to plug in when you get it. I would also recommend you possibly buying at least a ranco thermostat from him. That way you can regulate the heat. If you already have a thermostat, great! Otherwise you might be looking at spending 85 dollars or so on the heating supplies, that will provide "SAFE" heating for your herp's.

Yea, I get quite confused with the whole plastic container set ups with the heating. He tried explaining it to me for a good month before I said screw it I'm too stupid to figure it out...and here I am again trying to put two and two together.

I know it's not that difficult, and I think that's why I get so frustrated with myself.

I will be moving in a month to a very limited space (dorm). I need to have three ball python set ups, but because of the limited space they can't be in a rack set up, and chances are they won't be directly next to each other either. I know the thermostats come with one probe, so how do the other two cages stay at the same temperature? Obviously if one piece of heat tape connected them all it would work, but that's probably not going to be an option. The second thing I was thinking is if all the containers are the same size, and the same amount of tape was used on each one, and the thermostat has three outlets, than one to an outlet and if one is the right temperature and all other variables are the same then the other two have to be the right temperature. I guess I'm mostly confused about how does that one little probe control all three seperate tanks?

Its exactly what you just stated Jenna. If you have the same size enclosure, same amount of tape being monitored as the others, then USUALLY the tape all stays the same temps. The easiest way to figure that out is to buy 2 indoor/outdoor thermometers from wal mart and let the probe's sit on the other 2 peices of flexwatt to see if they stay the same.
