I was wondering if anybody has input on the risks involved in releasing "spent" feeders into the wild. I, for example, use the typical pet shop crickets to feed my leopard geckos. Could these crickets develop a viable wild population if they were ever accidentally released?
I understand that some sub-tropical states (such as Florida) do not allow certain feeder insects to be imported. Are there any feeders I should be concerned about in a temperate climate?
With all the problems facing introduced species I thought that this potential problem has been overlooked. Thanks ahead of time for your input!
