    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi there everyone this is my first post on this site i have looked around a bit and just really wanted to get a picture up of my skink 'claire's' foot.

I have just noticed this today and think it has probably been done in the last day or two, it is a swelling of her front right foot probably to about twice its normal size. it hasnt changed colour or anything and the toes seem all normal its just the actual main bit of the foot.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what it may be? i have Claire in the tank with 'Chris' and a month or so ago he was quite into nibbling her and wondered if its maybe a bite that has caused it. I have not noticed him biting her though in ages. Is there anything i can get to give her that will reduce the swelling or is it best to take her to the vet/ take her to the man at the pet store who is V experienced.

Thanks alot il try get the picture attatched...

Going to the vets tommorrow so hopefully they will be able to look at the foot. taking my other lizard too coz today he got his head stuck in a hole and has scratched his ear not having too much luck today.
I had just rearranged the tank and put a waterfall in and they were able to clime up it to the lid (home made wood lid with holes in it for ventilation) and Chris got his head stuck in one of the holes. Totally cant beleive it im so gutted i hope he is okay took me ages to get him out thought he was gunna die :(

He seems a bit in shock now for the rest of the day he has been sat in his cave think hes scared to come back out. Cant beleive it coz ive had them about 2 years now with no problems at all and then two come along together. One was just random but one could of been avoided if id have thought about it a bit.

hey thanks for the heads up, its strange as when i got them the guy said that they really like a moist environment i also remembered reading up about them somewhere and basically i copied how he had his tank set up. So originally had a water section and they always splashed about in it and seemed to like it they dig around in the substrate bark stuff i have and generally seem happy with how it is, do you think that after how long ive had them it would be a sort of shock all of a sudden having sandy environment?

is there a mixture i can have, i actually wanted to do it before coz i think it keeps the heat better than the bark but the guy at the pet shop thought it was a bad idea. He is really knowledgeable and seems to know his stuff.

ANYway... I took her earlier today, she had her foot looked at by the Vet, she had to cut into it with a small scalple and ended up squeezing out some puss. Ive got some antibiotics to give her but im finding it hard as she doesnt like the taste..
Hope she is going to be okay shes eating well and seems un fazed. The vet said my other lizard is fine.

Cheers (sorry for long winded reply)

Don't listen to the pet store, they are almost always wrong. The wet environment could have caused they swelling of the leg.
