    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi,
I just got this tortoise the other day,the lady i got her from told me she is a mojave Desert Tortoise,which she says she had bought at a pet store(which is illegal!),at the time she bought him she was 4 and she has had her for 2 years now,so she is six years of age now.I think she should be bigger then she is if she's a desert tortoise,she can fit in the palm of my hand,she is about 5 to 6 inches around,can someone here tell me what they think she might be?.please email me if you can help,i will send pictures,for some reason it keeps saying my pic's are too big to put on here,and i try croping them,but then the pic looks blurry,i will try and put some up tomorrow!.Thanks for your time!.

Ahhh! Sulcata tortoise or African spurred thigh tortoise. Africas largest. Up to 150/200 lbs. Good luck

Hector are you sure?!?,ive been looking for some good pics of thoses types you had mentioned,do you know of a good site where i can see if he looks like thoses?.Thanks hector for your reply

Looks like the Desert Tortoise. Agazzizi or something like that.

Normally the plastron is rounder but she has, it appears, been on a high protien diet and her shell is not the normal shape normally associted with the Desert Tortoise.

Whether is Spurthigh or Desert, a great personality is almost a given. They really are neat creatures.

Thank's Wilomn,
I was wondering if something had happened to her shell,it is shaped like a saddle shape?,it slopes in the middle,kinda hard to see in the pictures,maybe i could try and put one up on here tonight,but thanks for the advice on what you might think she is.

Its a sulcata, its older than 4 years old, and it looks like the diet was really bad, get it on a weed diet, and grass diet. THey need low protein high fiber diet. They do get huge, you are looking at a 2.5-3 footer at full grown. If you want more info, email me i can help you send you links ect...
