In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi all,
I hope I'm not offending anyone with this thread. But I am at my wits end! I have a batch of baby cribos, and a batch of baby indigo snakes who are all being stubborn about starting to feed. After pondering this problem for some time, I have come to the conclusion that these little guys would harbor a natural fear of anything that smells like a rodent, at this age. As An adult rodent in the wild would surely make a meal out of them. So I am searching for an alternative. I have considered insects, but I'm not too keen on that because of the introduction of parasites associated with feeding insects. So my next idea is tadpoles. Some have already started on minnows, and that's o.k. And some have even started on mouse pinks. But there are a few holdouts who show nothing but fear when it comes to anything I have tried. So now I am wondering if it is possible to acquire a bunch of tadpoles from someone at a reasonable rate. And or some advice concerning the start up of an easy to breed, cheep, and prolific frog species. But first I would just like to get my hands on some live tadpoles so I can test my theory. If it works, then I will proceed to the next step of producing, and or acquiring more. Any help or advice I could get on this subject would be greatly appreciated! If you would like to help, please contact me at; [email protected]
Thanks in advance,
T.

Ok, this is the wrong time of year for it, but I'll throw it out there anyway. Someone (I'm trying, but for the life of me I cannot remember who) needed a large number of tadpoles to feed something. After a bit of searching, they found the key: fish farms. Fish farms consider tadpoles to be pests (they eat the fish food), but can't feasibly prevent frogs from laying eggs in the pond, so they just scoop out the tadpoles. Apparently this guy just called a few up, arranged a date, and got huge buckets full of them for some ridiculously low price per pound. He chucked them in the freezer, and fed his animals for years.

Unfortunately, it's probably too late in the year for this to work, but it's something to keep in mind.

As for now, LLL Reptiles has feeder geckos and anoles. Yeah, expensive and there's still the risk of parasites, but at least it's something.

Henry,
Now that sounds like one helluvan Idea! I'll do it. We have a catfish farm about 30 miles from here. Thanks! I reckon for now, I'll have to make due with what I have. Unless somebody knows of an easy, prolific, and obtainable captive frog species??
Thanks,
T.
