In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This is an idea I came up with to properly hydrate aboreal hots that will not readily drink from standing water... Using this chamber allows your aboreal snakes to be misted for over 10 minutes... They drink the droplets that fall on them in order to get the proper amount of water into their systems... My snakes go into the chamber every other day...
Also by using this hydration chamber, there are no more worries about over misting the main encloser...

Here are some pictures

Gregg,

I did the same thing when I kept arboreal vipers. Another step I took out of complete overkill was to get a screen drain cover for kitchen sinks. I then riveted that over the hole so there was no chance of mistake or having a gravid viper start having babies who could squeeze out while I was not looking, not that that ever happened.

I had another that hooked up to my shower and into a garbage can I had converted. In this case I just threaded the nozzle right into the lid, which was held onto the can with carriage bolts and a lock. I would run that thing for hours on nights I was staying up late.

Nice thing about these nozzles vs. the typical mist system is that the water droplet is larger than a mist system so you don't get as much evaporative cooling. My arboreals had no trouble defecating.

At any rate, thanks for the trip down memory lane. I do miss working with these snakes.
