In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This sends the wrong message

I don't care what temple they went to visit. This is dangerous. These pictures should not be put on a public website by a place that deals with rescues.
You do not do this with waglers vipers!

This guy needs his head examined. Letting his kids put them on their heads. Dumb move.

Posting this statement still does not excuse the fact that they are showing an extremely dangerous practice. I would expect more from a place that deals with rescues.

Below are photos of visitors to the famous Snake Temple in Penang, Malaysia. These photos are not of us, nor of anyone we know. We also do not freehandle venomous reptiles, nor do we recommend doing so. I simply found it interesting that the vipers that inhabit this temple are so docile. If these photos are of you, or someone you know, and you would like them removed please contact me and I will be happy to do so.

Am I wrong? Should I expect more from an organization that deals with rescues? They see firsthand the effects of irresponsible practices and misinformation on how to care to reptiles so why would they post pictures like that which sends the wrong message. No blurb about don't do this means anything. The pictures are what people are going to focus on.

You know what buddy? You need to get out into the real world more, as you obviously don't have enough real problems in your life, and are sitting around waiting for people to scream at about little sh|t. :willy_nil

I have never been to the temple. I would like to. I doubt I would have my picture taken with viper's on me (or even do so off camera) like these folks did, but that ...

1) is their choice
2) has already happened
3) is done there every day
4) has been done hundreds of times there without incident
5) isn't my f***ing temple
6) isn't up to me if they do so

Here captain freakout...be sure and hammer these folks too. You should also contact the temple, the Malaysian government, the high priest of Buddhism, and all of the folks on the Internet posing with these beautiful reptiles.

You'll find more if you do a Google image search for "Snake Temple"...but this should keep you busy for awhile. Go get 'em Captain Activist! :bang:

So a place that takes in a rescue, then advertises that rescue saying to look for it in their photo gallery, where you will see these pictures is OK?

These other places did not post to go to their gallery where you will see these pictures to look at the animal they rescued and are now adopting out.

Sorry but they know what poor judgement and improper care and misinformation can do to a reptile and the general public that wants to ban reptile ownership. Posting pictures like that, no matter what "waiver" they add, is irresponsible.

People will see those pictures after being directed there looking for a snake to adopt, not care what it represents, and think it would be cool to freehandle hots. They may like the pretty colors instead of the duller colors on the boa and think, hey, these people can do this, why can't I? It happens. People do stupid things, get bit, and the rest of the community suffers as a consequence.

Oh, and congratulations on your mastery of tactful criticism. I'm sure you make lots of progress at getting people to see things as you do. Had you had enough ass to just contact us and give your point of view I might have given it some consideration. Instead you post it all over the place in an effort to sensationalize and get others to, somehow, pursuade us to do differently.

We are not an organization, we are 2 people that volunteer to foster 1 maybe 2 reptiles, you are way over top with your flames. Your interpretation of our website is your opinion. We don't sell or breed anything. Our website is free to view. We don't even sell advertising. Has posted by Viper go picket the discovery channel, national geographic and animal planet while your on your crusade.

People should be responsible for their own actions and common sense. You don't put venomous snakes on your head, you don't shoot a loaded gun at someone. If you can't figure those things out for yourself, stay off the internet cause it's full a dangerous links. Don't watch TV people get murdered in movies all the time.

Please anyone view for yourself

That is not what I am saying.

What I am trying to say is that people are being referred to the photo gallery to see the snake that is up for adoption. In the photo gallery are these pictures.

When you have firsthand experience dealing with the end results of irresponsible keepers, you do not want to highlight unsafe practices and direct people to pictures of it.
