• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

how long does it take before im out of limbo?

Melissa,
It's normally almost instantly. Is there any possibility that you entered your email address incorrectly?

The problem may be the way you have Yahoo set up. I have this problem with Yahoo, Hotmail, and AOL. Messages originating from this site get labeled as spam and placed in a spam or bulk mail folder. In the case of AOL, they may be blocked completely. I am trying to get a resolution to this problem now, but it's like talking to robots.

In the meantime, I am checking new registrations and completing the registrations manually.

And I am discussing with my server host some possible solutions from that angle as well, if possible

But it may come to the point where I have to block ALL registrations from the above mentioned email providers if the workload gets to be more than I am willing to put up with, and the problem cannot be resolved.

They have gone just a bit over the line with this spam blocking stuff to where now they are blocking legitimate emails (certainly not just from this site) because of those tools they have implemented. Personally, I would not tolerate ANY email provider blocking my emails without my having the option to review them all if I wish to do so. As a business, that would be a serious mistake to allow someone else to decide which emails I get and which ones I don't.

that probably is it, i don't check spam i just erase and i did get a spam e-mail earlier.. Should i just sit tight?

Done.

Bear in mind that anyone who contacts you from this site via the email facilities as well as notifications of replies to subscribed threads will likely be treated as spam as well by Yahoo.

I find this situation kind of incredulous since most spam posting on this site (and my others) tends to originate from Yahoo and those particular email providers.

Yeah, Yahoo is becoming a PITA. I had to add Fauna to my address book in order to stop notices from hitting my bulk folder. Even that wasn't 100% successful. Any NEW posts, I have to go to bulk, and open it, and click "not spam" to get it to go to my inbox. Getting pretty old actually. It only started since they teamed with ATT. They got an ear full coming just as soon as it annoys me enough.

Anyway, try adding Fauna to your address book as a possible way around this problem.

Rick
