This is a very rewarding species to keep. They are extremely hardy, eat just about anything offered, hibernate, and are beautifully marked. Males grow to about 6-8 inches, while females can reach 10-12 inches in adulthood.
These babies were hatched early 2011, about February. They are about 2 inches long. They are feeding on pellets, snails, beef heart, blood worms, and greens. Also the occasional fish.
