Ball Python Rack System Question

I am going to making a rack system for my ball pythons and was wondering if you have to use Melamine or if you could just use regular plywood like oak or maple or whatever?

I used birch wood for my Ball python rack system. I don't personally like melamine for caging; though a lot of people use it. It's just not my personal preference. I wouldn't suggest oak because it is VERY heavy, but again, just a presonal preference.

I just bought the Melamine wood for the rack. Hopefully I can make this thing.
