I keep all of my snakes on a newspaper substrate. Its cheap, easy to clean and you don't have to worry about the snakes ingesting any of it.

No, not at all.....you might have some problems keeping the humidity up during shed periods if you are housing them in glass tanks, but I use rubbermaid tubs for all of my snakes, and they hold humidity very well....once the snakes go into shed, I simply mist once a day and I've had nothing but perfect sheds. What kind of Boas do you have?

I would just go to wal-mart & get some rubbermaid/sterilite containers, solder or drill some ventilation holes in them and then your problem will be solved! Rubbermaids are very inexpensive and are easily replaced when the snake needs a bigger enclosure. :)
