One of my females has developed a sort of dimple on her left eye she isn't dehydrated her tank is @ 82-86 degrees with a basking spot of 95, and a big enough water bowl for her to fit in.

I have let her soak in the tub and tried putting her tank in the bathroom letting the shower run for a couple minutes I can't get an appt. at the vet right now and I'm running ideas nor do I know what would be causing it ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED...

Thanks,
Dave

my snake got a dent in her eye once upon a time.....it was fixed after she shed.....so wait until your snake sheds and her eye will get that dent out

She just shed about 5 days ago and I thought it wood have gone away then, now it seems that the dimple might have even progressed?

Well Dave, it sounds like the eyecap is still on your animal.

I would start by placing your snake in a damp pillowcase over night in its tank. If the eyecap doesn't come off this way you may want to soak the animal a time or two and try again.

Let us know what happens as there are a few other ways to resolve this.

Good luck.

she shed perfectly last time (which is why I still have it) and the eye caps are there in the shed but I put her in a damp pillow case anyway, shes only been in the pillow case for an hour or two so I didn't take her out of it yet but I'll keep you informed about whats going on.

thanx,
Dave

Time to raise the humidity a bit in the enclosure, probably, they like it around 50%. Also, they don't need a high temp basking area. An ambient temp on the warm side of about 88 is good enough. :)

For the last 2 weeks I've been keeping the humidity up between 65-75% right now its @ 74% but I haven't done anything to boost it and I don't se why its that high, hum I wonder if its defective?

Are you using an analog hygrometer? Those can sometimes be WAY off.

No I have a cheap $5.00 one that I just tested (which I should have done when I bought it) it works its just off about 15-20% give or take.
I guess its now time to invest. (I should have done this in the first place also)

thanx,
Dave.

You can get digital thermometer/hygrometers at RadioShack for about $20. You'll have to replace teh batteries every month or two, though.

No I haven't, but if I have to do that every 3 days its sounds to me like something is wrong.

I just think he needs a reliable way of measuring humidity.

I took her to the vet and he said not to worry it looks like a minor injury she got form something. (scrached by a mouse, or self inflicted in some way) Her eye is fully operational and has no other problems, it should be gone after the next shed or so.

But not knowing the humidity in the tank doesn't help, I'll pick one up. One thing I don't get is why when I put her in the pillow case it seemed "to me" that the scrach was completely gone then came back a couple days later? Wouldn't I have still be able to see it? Hold on let me answer my own question...NO
