2019 Dalmatian tortoises (Testudo hermanni hercegovinensis) are now available.
These gems were produced by our adult group which hails from Coastal Croatia. They are cold hardy, personable, easy to care for and are a rather small form. Most of our males are in the 4-4.5" range with females averaging between 5 and 6.5". Think of them as a "middle ground" between the western and eastern Hermann's tortoises in terms of look, colors and markings.

These tortoises are an excellent choice for those looking for an animal that is less common and smaller than the eastern Hermann's tortoise but not as expensive as a pure western Hermann's tortoise.
These available 2019 hatchlings have all been hatching out within the last 6 weeks here. I will not relinquish them until they are a full 2 months of age. Most are just about ready now. They have been outside here in sunny, hot, south Jersey since hatching in fully protected enclosures. They are feeding consistently on clover, vetch, dandelion, Mediterranean plantain, ribwort plantain, hibiscus leaves & flowers, Mazuri tortoise diet (original formula 1xweek), curly endive and some spring mix.
These animals are authentic, textbook, pure and just stunning animals. Price reflects these things of course but I am happy to work with you on purchases of multiple animals providing there are enough left.
