turtle inventory

I am conducting a turtle inventory on the Mohawk Reserve in Northern N.Y. State. Subjects are snappers,map,painted and hopefully blanding's and maybe spiny soft-shells. This is a 3 year project and i would welcome any suggestions on live trapping I have 28 mesh traps and was wondering what bait to use. I.e. sardines and such. I would rather try a proven bait than try different kinds.

In my past experience with snappers I have found that chicken necks of just plain chicken work best.

i've caught them on hot dogs,bluefish,slim jims,trout.
