In the pet trade, many times Colombian Blacks or Colombian Black n Whites are sold as Argentine Black n White tegus. I will try to make this as clear as possible on telling the differences on these. Colombian tegus have one large loreal scales, The Argentine tegus have two. The loreal scales Are the scales between the eye and nostril. The Argentine also have a pattern of distinct lines running from the head down the sides of the neck and back. The Colombians have no such markings. The skin of the Argentine is beaded. The skin of the Colombian is smooth. Here are pictures of both of these, and the differences can be seen clearly. In the first picture it is a Argentine, and the second in a Colombian.
