And a good year, too! Her first clutch this year consisted of 10 eggs, one of which looked half slug. It developed for a while until the 'slug' part of the egg turned real bad and killed it. The other 9 are coming along beautifully and should hatch at the end of this month. Her second clutch (laid this morning) totalled 8 eggs, all fertile. Pretty big for a second clutch!

Pics of all eggs:

We couldn't be prouder of our pair. :hurray:

What will they be like? Well... here is a fairly recent pic of last year's holdback:

Can't wait to have more hyper squirmy worms to play with, hehehehe.

I like the high yellow! Are they N. Mexico spilotes? How's their temperament? I work with a sweet pair at the Nash. Zoo in TN. They are the best diurnal display snakes around!

No, these are Central American pullatus, not mexicanus. With regular handling, they calm down fairly well.

They are the best diurnal display snakes around!

I agree!

Thanks, Kelli and Dennis. Here's a few of the hatchlings from the first clutch this year:

All 9 of the good ones hatched. These have had their first shed, but will probably look better after their second when their speckling starts to come in more.

One from the second clutch is not developing, so we should get 8 more babies since they are all looking good. :) I love these snakes!!!

Great pictures! Too cute! They look great now. I’m sure after their first shed they will be extremely stunning.

Congrats again, Michelle. You and Donnie are really good with the egg layers. Sorry about your luck with the boas this year, but there is always next...

On another note, Tisiphone (an ATB that Mich and Donnie gave me; you guys are the best! :bow01:) has eaten twice and is due for another tonight if she desides to take it. She's heavy in shed currently and when she sloughs, I'm totally putting her in with my male for some HOT TREEBOA ACTION! I'm syched. She's been cooled all winter, now let's hope my male knows what to do with her. :hurray:
