I have a five year old iguana who suddenly has become lethargic and seems to have no strength in his limbs. He also appears to have reddness in one of his eyes. Can anyone advise how I should treat him?

It could be one of many things. Your best bet is a quick trip to the vet to get blood and stool samples tested.

I can see this post is a couple months old but I saw that you are in Massachusetts and wanted to recommend Dr. Hess at Kingston Animal Hospital. When I had my iguana I would only take him to her, she has lots of iguana experience. Just my two cents if you are still looking for a good vet.

Your iguana could have many things wrong and should be seen by a veterinarian. Likely differentials include hypocalcemia (secondary to nutritional or renal secondary hyperparathyroidism) or renal disease with secondary hypertension although many other causes of weakness exist. I would start with a fecal, cbc, chem panel, and detailed history.
