Eastern DiamondBack Rattlesnake's
Anyone here keep them? How about a thread for them?
If you have them post some pic's and some info on your DiamondBack such as,age sex, lenght, weight and whatever else you'd like to share. As for me I've had cane break's before but never EDB's, I'm going to repticon in columbia,s.c on the 12th to pick up a male and female EDB that I've already paid for, just thought I'd save on shipping since I was going there anyway. The male is 3.5ft amd the female is 4ft, there around 2 to 3yrs old. They were caught in the wild as babies in south fla. there eating f/t rats with no problem. Once I pick them up I'll post some pic's of them. |
Here's a couple of pics of the one's I picked up yesterday.

Cool terrarium but are those pine needles as a substrate?
|
It's long leaf pine straw I picked up, I've been told it's o.k to use. One of their habitats is the long leaf pine forest. I want their enclosure to look fairly close to their natural habitat.

Switched out the substrate today because I was told with the straw there would be a better chance of bringing in mites or some other parasite.
I went with aspen. http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/...psc94e3509.jpg |
You can use cypress as well
