First herp trip of 2012!

Well I guess it didn't start out as a herp trip, but it ended up as one nonetheless. My wife and I went fishing and I spotted something on a tree in the water. Can you see him?
Attachment 334758 Low and behold! A Cottonmouth. Keep in mind, this was February 23rd! We were lucky enough to get some good pictures of him. Attachment 334759 Attachment 334760 Also, we saw a good sized snapping turtle crossing the road, so we helped him get over. Attachment 334761 We've had an unseasonably warm winter here this year so I guess it'll be a good year of field herping. Hope you guys are also having some good luck! |

Yeah it was still pretty young - only 2.5-3ft so it still had some good color retained. Nice and photogenic!

wow it took me forever to find him in the pic..lol and I still don't think it's him. haha ..nice job on the pics!
