Found something strange in my pygmy rattlesnake cage
Greetings all, 1st time poster here...
I caught a Western pygmy rattlesnake outside of my home here in north center Arkansas about 6-7 years ago. She acclimated quickly, even giving birth to 6 little bell tails about a year or so after bringing her in. She eats like a champ and has been a pleasure to keep.. That said.. About 2 days ago when changing her water, I noticed 5 amber colored balls about the size of a dime though out her cage. Never have I seen this, nor can i find anything on google pertaining to it. Anyone have an idea what these may be? |
We call those "slugs" which are undeveloped embryos. Not unusual if she hasn't bred.
