Anery Stripe Kenyan Sand Boa

Meet Mercury, an anery stripe Kenyan Sand Boa. We produced Mercury in 2018. He was the largest and most attractive animal in the litter, and we held him back for breeding. For the first year of his life, Mercury was absolutely bullet proof, eating and growing like a champ. However, in his second year, he began to have problems with regurgitation. Despite the use of proper regurgitation protocol, he was regurgitating 50% of his meals. Our vet ran a number of expensive tests on him and could find nothing wrong. We reduced his feeding schedule to one small prey item every three weeks, and he has gotten a lot better, but he still regurgitates sometimes. He also seems to need to go at least three days without being handled after a meal, or he will regurgitate. So basically, Mercury can only be fed very sparingly and needs to be treated with kid gloves, so to speak. We do not believe this to be a genetic issue, since we have raised 23 of his full and half-siblings without notable regurgitation issues. That being said, he will probably always be small for his age and we do not recommend breeding him because he is so delicate.

Mercury is available for the cost of shipping to anyone who can prove they will care for him properly.

EDIT: Mercury has found a new home!
