Government shutdown?
Hey, if the government shuts down on Tuesday, do you think that the senators and representatives are going to stop getting THEIR paychecks?

I'm supposed to make settle on my new house on Tuesday 11:00am EST.

Actually yes, they are proposing a bill to do so.
|
"Lawmakers and political appointees are among those not subject to furlough in the event of a government shutdown. Last week, a House Republican introduced a bill that would withhold pay for members of Congress if the government shuts down. “Salary and job performance should be tied together, and if members of Congress aren’t doing their job, that should be reflected in their salary,” said Rep. Chris Collins, R-N.Y. “The American people deserve more from their Congress and it is time, as members of Congress, that we put ourselves at the back of the line and put our constituents first in a government shutdown.”"

Now I wouldn't put money on it passing, but it shows at least one guy up there has his head screwed on straight.

Do you get the feeling that our legislators are complaining about their chairs being uncomfortable on the deck of the Titanic? Come on fellas! What is the REAL issue here? Do you THINK that it may be that you are hitting a ceiling of $16 TRILLION dollars of debt and you need to borrow even MORE to keep this country running? And you NEED to raise that debt ceiling a couple of times a year??
You all are standing in a swamp up to your asses in hungry alligators just whining about your socks being a little damp. And you all are trying to tell us that you feel competent enough to take on the responsibility for OUR health care? |
