Stained & Lacquered ?

I have a piece of furniture (TV Stand) that I am thinking about turning into a tank for one of my dragons. The inside where the dragon will be is stained & lacquered. Will the stain & lacquer cause a problem for the dragon?

Thanks

Hello

Hello,

Yes, it will be fine. However, you need to allow at least 2 weeks for it to offgas & cure correctly so it wont give off fumes. So, other than that, it should be no problem, just allow for the curing time.

Here are a couple pics I took. This is what I have done so far. I tool off the legs and the handels. I did some sanding, and filled in some holes with wood putty/filler. I also cut out some vent holes in the back. I also went to the store and got the heat tight fixture and the UVB light fixture. Got a couple extention cords and the vents. Silicone, stain and lacquer. I think I have done enough work for today. I will work on it more tomorrow.

Thanks for looking,

Hello

Hello,

Wow, that is looking very good! It will be worth it when it is done. That is great you are allowing plenty of time for everything to dry & cure before putting your dragon in. :D
