Time to stop and give thanks

Certainly seeing the end of the road promotes taking stock in the more important things in life- family and relationships.

Internet squabbles, dust bunnies, great sales on five years worth of tp, and the like all go on the back burner.

On the other hand, making certain bad health choices like a half gallon purchase of butter pecan ice cream can be overlooked because any last minute rushes to healthy living will certainly not slow the final curtain so a certain amount of hedonism will probably promote happiness.

It is always OK to stop and thank those around you for their friendship and patience, and to praise especially delightful, useful, and challenging places such as this site.

Hope you are OK, Lucille, and not looking at that "end of the road" quite yet yourself.

Yeah, sounds a little ominous; are you okay? :erm:

Giving myself permission to have as much butter pecan ice cream as I want :D
Seriously, we should live each day as if it were our last, and focus on stuff that matters. Like the good job all of y'all do to protect those buying/selling reptiles. You are awesome!

I had to do that too. Life's too short to exclude ice cream!

As I get older, I ponder the important stuff a lot more. I used to blow off family stuff, and missed a lot of dinners, birthday celebrations, etc. Then my dad died, and I'll never get that wasted time back.

Now, even when I'm tired, I make the effort to see the people who are important to me.

My best friend is a 65 yr old woman who is tiny. Any time she goes over 120 pounds (her high school weight) she freaks. She always comments on my meals about how much fat, salt bad it is. I always tell her that this may not be available after death so better eat it now.

I will be 60 on my next birthday.
I will be retired soon.
Things are well .
My family is thriving.
My health is stellar.
I now realize I don’t give a f about the small stuff.
I am now letting grow long again.
I don’t tolerate BS.
I don’t much care for company politics any more.
I also eat what ever I want.
I really am digging some good food like bbq ribs and ice cream for desert.
Not that this is what up you meant but this works for me.:yesnod:
Andy.
