HMMM...wut to get

i am new to this forum. someday i want to get into HOTS and i was wondering wut nonvenomous snake would be good start with the behavior of a HOT.

I was recommended False Water Cobras. I believe Wes breeds them.

are false water cobras nonvenomous?

TripleMoonsExotic 01-01-2007 10:50 AM

Mild venom & rear fanged. Similiar to the Western Hognose venom.

it depends on what "hots" you want to work with...there isn't a universal fit

Well i like alot of hots except rattle snakes because to me they arent as interesting. i mostly like vipers.

If your looking to learn how to handle them and not get bitten, I learned with a 5' WC Teaxs Rat snake - for 10 years - and still learning. Either he is real fast or I am real slow either way I still don't think I'm ready for hots yet. I do manuver copperheads and timbers when I find them in the field, just to get pics of them. I had an Osage copperhead " wander" into a bag I was useing to get it back on a road in the Ozarks last fall. It realy depends on what you want to work with and who is willing to work with you to learn. There are all kinds of veriables such as housing, cleaning the cage, feeding that you have to concider also. I have no idea how that might help, but there you go..
